My name is Melinda Mondovics. I have been studying and dealing with the English language since the age of 5. I was an undergraduate at the English language faculty of the University of Miskolc between 2000 and 2003 and in 2003 I acquired a degree on English language teaching. I also acquired knowledge about intercultural communication and the American and the British issues. Between 2003 and 2005 I extended my studies in the faculty of English translation of social sciences and economy at the University of Miskolc. In 2005 I got my degree and became an English translator. It was already during my university years when I gained experience in translation; I translated texts for the Hungarian Mind Control Ltd and I was a translator-interpreter on the First and Second International Filmfestivals For Young Filmmakers in Miskolc.

 Being an active translator for 5 years, I have undertaken translations in various fields and for different organizations, about which you can gain information in the menu list under References and Translation fields. Besides translation, my further interests are  international diplomacy, different cultures, language learning, American Hungarians, emmigration, situation of Hungary with America and with rest of the world.

In the summers and springs I regularly participated in study tours held in England and Scotland. In 2006 I spent 4 months in Cleveland, Ohio where I studied different Hungarian-American institutions, the American-Hungarian people’s stories about their emmigration and I was an active member of the Hungarian American Community. During these four months I was a regular invited presenter and co-editor at the American-Hungarian Radio in Cleveland when I was asked to make book reviews about books written by American Hungarians about their emmigration to America.
